Puducherry is the city’s official name, and Pondicherry is the name most guests still search. SPR Paradise is near the entrance gate and JIPMER, a short drive from the beach and from Auroville.
Use the resort as the quiet base and go into Pondicherry for the Promenade, the French quarter, and the beaches. Come back for the pool and dinner. The drive from Chennai along the coast is about three hours, which makes a Friday-to-Sunday stay realistic.
Puducherry airport is close for guests flying in. If you are driving, the plus code is XRC2+W4, near the Pondicherry entrance gate and JIPMER.
